DUG RAKEF SAŠKE / DUG RS
Petak, 15. novembar u 20.00

Bukvalno. Bacanje eura u svetlu zaduženosti me je zabavilo; poznata mi je tema, nedoumica, neprestano preračunavanje u glavi. To je tema bliska polovini stanovništva. Opadanje sredstava u najvažnijim delovima društva, obrazovanju, kulturi i nauci, kao i smanjivanje broja zaposlenih u javnom sektoru će uskoro dovesti do – između ostalog – povećanja publike izvedbe The Debt of RS u pozorištu Glej. Oni će ići u pozorište radi poistovećivanja i sedeti na mestu gde će ih izvedba razumeti i otvoriti im moguća sučeljavanja sa dûgom.“

THE DEBT OF RAKEF SAŠKA / THE DEBT OF RS

The Debt of Rakef Saška / The Debt of RS is a performance based on a desire to start a dialogue on the subject of (personal) debt/owing in order to exchange practical strategies of confronting the debt crisis. Its starting point is the increasing debt/blocked bank account of Saška Rakef and its impact on the dynamics of her everyday life.

The research performance The Debt of Rakek Saška / The Debt of RS is based on Saška Rakef’s growing financial debt and blocked personal account and the influence that the debt has on the dynamics of her everyday life (her psycho-physical condition, her standard of living and organisation of activities, the dynamics of her interpersonal relationships, her perspective/vision, or rather, the lack of it, and her strategies of salvation: bankruptcy, moonlighting, off-shore accounts).
In collaboration with experts in the field of arts, economy, law, and psychotherapy, the project seeks the parallels between the processes that unfold within the specific personal story and those that we recognise within a wider social reality which are connected to the increase in national debt (the consequence of economic/financial/political/social status in the state).
“Finally a performance that’s my cup of tea! Literally. The tossing of euros in light of debt amused me; I am familiar with the subject, the dilemma, the constant calculation in one’s head. It is a subject that 50 percent of the population can relate to. Reduction of funds in vital parts of society, education, culture and science and the decrease in the number of public sector employees will soon lead to – among other things – an increased number of spectators of the performance The Debt of RS at the Glej Theatre. They will go to the theatre for identification and sit in a place where the performance will understand them and open up possible confrontations with debt.”
